Facially… Meh. Where I live (in London, UK) i see her facial look ALL the time; the pout, the high arching eyebrows, the shape of her eyes, the narrow slightly long nose – Seriously, i saw her, and about 5 other girls faces popped into my head cos it’s a very popular glamour look over here. Because of that she just looks… unremarkable to me. She can definitely pull off sexy – but I wouldn’t say pretty, or cute – maybe it’s different when she smiles. (Maybe a hint of Mariah in there too?) The bodies tight, and yeah she got some ass; but no extra marks for that cos this is urban modelling so regardless of ethnicity you gotta step up!

In response to Easy-E, your assumptions of heavy photoshop are wrong. My photos are not more airbrushed than any other model’s photos. If I’m not your cup of tea, it’s completely fine, I respect that, I would just like to address the issues which I disagree and where you are misled. I certainly do not feel I “replace” a black woman because I have curves. The issue itself might have given somewhat of a racially stereotypical feel, which I noticed as soon as I heard the interview questions. I wasn’t feeling that. The questions made too much of a big deal about what do white guys like about me.. and then what do black guys like about me. I don’t see a difference in what qualities certain men like. I’m not trying to be black, nor am I comparing myself to a black woman. I am who I am, if you like me and support me, great, if not, well that’s cool too. Being fake is overwhelming nowadays, it’s no wonder everyone is so quick to assume, but i’ll be the first one to correct anyone who tells me I’m photoshopped.

I’ve met Joanna on several occasions, the first time was at the SHOW magazine premier issue party in NYC 2 years ago. Nice girl, looks good in person, her body is crazy, and the ass is real fellas…even for a “white girl”.
If you check out SHOW mag’s White Issue (with Joanna in it-by the way, nice spread Joanna…gotta hit up Hakim and talk about it!), look for Elena…she’s a model i’ve worked with here in NYC.

I know everyone has their own taste in women, especially dudes who love their “thick”sistas” and latina women with crazy ass…but I hate to be the bearer of bad news…there are alot of beautiful white women in this world with incredible, crazy bodies with an phat ass…with no surgery, just natural.
Yes, It will make you scratch your head and say, “how can that be…not a white girl with a phat ass?”…but it is what it is.
Not all white women have “Maxim” magazine type/big fake breasts/no ass bodies.
Unfortunately, alot of healthy white models with ass can’t get featured in Maxim and those types of mags because of that reason (I’ve had convos with folks who work for these mags…a model like Vida Guerra is their limit when it comes to women with body & ass).
I laughed when Ludacris said the line “new phenomenon-white women with asses”…white women with asses have been around for a long time…especially down south and in the A, Luda! (lol)
A lot of models are getting ass shots and implants now(especially lots of black & latina models)…most of them are doing it to get an edge competing with other models for magazine spread/music video space…you can compare it to steroids & baseball.
I will just feel kinda bad for them in 2-3 years, when they’re not in magazines & videos…they’re just gonna have alot of unhealthy fluids in their bodies and no monetary gain from doing it.
So all of those dudes who don’t like white women with a natural crazy body & phat ass, don’t hate…just understand that there are white women /models with bodies like that.
That also goes for black & latina models reading this…alot of you hate on white models worse than the dudes sometimes…like black & latina models have the only right and authority to be featured in SHOW, SMOOTH, KING, XXL…and even BLACK MEN.

The White Issue was a lowpoint for SHOW….
For the record I am a white male and subscribe to both SHOW and SHOW Lingerie to see the most beautiful ethnic models tastefully photographed.
I actually emailed Sean Cummings the same day this issue showed up in my mailbox – the cool part was he actually responded within 15 minutes of my email to assure me that SHOW was not going “mainstream” and that his feelings were that many of SHOW’s readers appreciated curvy white females. He also acknowledged that he was aware that other subscribers had feelings similar to those expressed in the email I sent him.
To each their own I guess – hopefully this is the last SHOW to feature white chicks. There are enough other media offerings that highlight white females, there is no need for SHOW to cater to this market.
Having all types of beautiful women in these magazines & music videos is a business…to make money by pleasing the masses who enjoy looking at these models…remember that.

DEE….I was curious about the reaction the whole White Issue would receive from SHOW readers. Seems like from the feedback here that it is split about 50/50. I kind of expected more of a negative reaction to the whole theme of the issue. The whole idea kind of went against the grain of what I thought SHOW was about in the first place.
At the very least there could have been more brunettes mixed in…some of these chicks looked a bit too much like hardened strippers to my eyes.
Lastly – I will take Mariah over Joanna any day. Gotta say that comparison isn’t even justified in my eyes.
From what I’m hearing, it was an issue with thick white women. Not the standard skeletor-roar-halloween-type chicks, so i don’t see that big a deal here. It’s still a good ways away from the main stream. A good way to bring in more readers. This is still a business.
