Dark? Nah the med gray is spot on 128. I think what ya are seeing is who ever did the color correction for Show, blew her skin tones. The magazine shots got her looking way too light and the reds in her skin blown out. I checked her photos on her My Space page and her video appearances to see what her real skin tone was and fixed the colors to get them right.
Sean should talk to whoever did those because they were color blind on that day.

What I found interesting about this issue is that Show actually had a little less airbrushing that usual. However, check out the her Chest on the 4th and 5th scan, it looks like they missed airbrushing on the 5th scan. I know when I was looking at the magazine I was shocked that this detail was missed. She looks killer in that last scan. Nice work as always.
