SKANNING

I get a lot of emails asking what scanner I use to do my thing. There are no shortcuts. The fact is it’s not about the hardware. Any flatbed scanner (no printer/scanner combos just a scanner) over $100 will get the job done. The difference is time and effort. The rest is trial and error with a mix of color correction, retouch and caring.

HISTORY

In 2004 I got into skanning because all of the HQ, HD pictures on the internet were of skinny, white chicks. All of the best skanners were European dudes. I love Beyonce as much as the next but being the token black girl on celebrity forums wasn’t right. After a lot of trail and error and wanting to drop kick my scanner, I finally got the mix right in 2006. The was blog has been kicking it since April 2007 and with your help keeps getting better.

The urban model market has up and downs but even with the changing times there is more color on the stands than when I started. There is no shortage of hot video vixens and sexy celebs to spotlight. I will miss the good mags that didn’t last (Suede, Vibe Vixen) but there’s still plenty of eye candy on the shelves.
